Sian Price last modified: 14th July 2010

Our sponsored rider, Sian Price, has enjoyed international success with three of her horses in Portugal including; the eight year old Acardian, 14 year old Rambo III and Step in Time II, a seven year old Chestnut mare.

Acardian and Rambo III competed in international classes every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday while Step in Time II competed in the Young horse classes on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sian explains that there were many reasons why she decided to go on tour: “I used the tour as a training show and it was the first show back for Rambo since he had been off for most of last year. I also wanted to improve the seven year old, develop a consistent routine plus it was also an outdoor show with good going.”

Sian had fantastic results taking fifth place in the grand prix with Rambo, third in the Ladies Final with Acardian while the seven year old Step in Time was placed consistently throughout the tour.

Sian’s success hasn’t ended there either. Other recent results include victory for Step in Time II who won the Grade C Qualifier for the Horse of the Year Show at Newark and Notts show. Step in Time was also placed third at Dorset in the Newcomers second round qualifying for the Horse of the Year Show and clinched first place at Wales and West, again qualifying for the prestigious HOYS. This extremely promising mare has since competed at HOYS in the Newcomers and Grade C final and was also placed in international trials last year.

Rambo III has also had much success claiming three wins in the Area Trial at Cornwall, the Grade A Championship at Cornwall and the Area Trial at Cheshire County. Rambo also took fifth place in the Grand Prix at the Wales and West and fourth in the Reno Grand Prix at Royal Norfolk.

You can watch Sian in action at some of the forthcoming shows including Kent County,
Royal International at Hickstead, Anglesey, Shrewsbury and Pembrokeshire shows.

Pre season preparation last modified: 24th June 2010

In February Sian Price took five horses all the way to southern Spain as part of her programme to get them in tip top condition for the season. It took a three full days to travel from Wales to Vejer to Frontera in Andalucia – about 30 miles from Gibraltar. Sian was very impressed with the excellent equine facilities at Vejer - four all weather surfaces and another four grass rings attract competitors from over twenty counties. “Sometimes it seemed more of a Rain Tour than a Sunshine Tour but getting the horses outside is always the best way to build all round fitness” explains Sian. Here we see Sian jumping with Molly Malone in Vejer:

Sian competed in the Welsh Masters at the David Broome Event Centre and was 3rd in the Grand Prix.
